Helping working families build a home they can afford
We exist to fill the gap between renting and traditional homeownership. We partner with families to build safe, affordable homes and help them buy their first home through our Affordable Homeownership Program.

How it works
Every donation helps build safe, energy-efficient homes across Southern Alberta. And every mortgage payment from a Habitat homeowner gets reinvested to help build the next home.

Bring the community together
We build homes alongside future homeowners, volunteers, and professional trades. Community partners and donors help fund the land, materials, and tools needed to make each build possible.

Provide affordable financing
We make homeownership possible for working families. Even with steady jobs, many families don’t qualify for a traditional mortgage. We provide an affordable mortgage with no down payment and no interest, so more families can build a stable future in a home they own.

Reinvest mortgage payments
When families make their monthly mortgage payments, that money is reinvested to help build the next Habitat home. And when a homeowner moves on, we buy the home back, complete any needed updates, and make it available to another family in need of affordable housing.
